Idiot Teens

So this weekend i came back from a weekend of camping, music and bonding with mates. Hopefully all you followers know that I’m a music appreciator and i respect every musician, even if i may not enjoy there music. I went to Groovin the Moo in Bunbury last weekend, this was my second year going, and i have been to quite a few festivals in my 15 years of living and for me to say that this was one of the worst music festivals i have ever been to must say a lot. Don’t get me wrong, the melodious tunes of Matt Corby, the superb voice of Kimbra, the Wonders that they call City and Colour, and the brilliance of The Getaway Plan were fabulous, and i guess that is exactly why i chose to attend the festivities of GTM. Now i know that i may complain a lot and many people have different opinions, but Teens these day have absolutely no self boundaries. I went in as an under 18, accepting the fact that it was both illegal for me to smoke and drink alcohol. But for some other teenagers, under 18, this wasn’t their idea of fun, and being the “Rebellious” teenagers they are, they decide to go get completely wasted. What they do not understand is that their behavior ruins the experience for people like myself. I can honestly say that watching people walk around with no clothes on in 8 degree weather, would not be classified as a “highlight” of my life. Watching drunk, older men try to perv on younger girls, and stupid, slutty little teenage girls wearing condoms on there bust is never fun for a person who is generally concerned for other people’s safety. Looking after some drunk girl whilst I’m trying to enjoy Kimbra, was not my cup of tea. Constantly saying to my self, “why have all these girls forgotten to put on clothes today” is not enjoyable. I went there by myself, i left by myself. I went for myself, to appreciate the music, to enjoy my life, not to go hookup with some guy you have just met, or smoke/drink illegally just for the fun of it. Today’s society do not realise that they are ruining experiences for everyone else, everyone who doesn’t and wont out up with this complete and utter bullshit. On the other hand, all the performances were amazing and luckily i was able to enjoy what i went there for, The Music.
